Concept mindmap

Drawing from intergroup contact theory and inspired by personal experiences and various videos, I set out to explore interpersonal bias with the goal of developing a solution to address it at some level. Displayed here is my mindmap, a tool I'll often use when brainstorming on big ideas. I attended a two-day professional conference at the University of Utah to see what the academic world was doing in this space and to run my ideas past them. It was yet another instance, similar to my job at the Upper Valley Haven, of using my problem-solving mindset to tackle problems outside of the engineering realm. Considering solutions to social challenges, where people have free will and do not behave like engineering products, remains a passion of mine.
